HANAMI: Cherry Blossoms Viewing

by - Monday, April 11, 2011

花見(hanami) which means "flower viewing", is the Japanese traditional custom of enjoying the beauty of flowers, most especially Sakura or the Cherry Blossoms every spring season.

Here's a photo of me a while ago.

The Hanami is a century-old practice of the Japanese people. And since fully bloomed cherry blossoms only last for a week or less, people make it a point to always check Sakura blossom forecasts so family and friends could go on a successful outdoor hanami parties or picnics.
