Etude House AC Clinic Pink Powder Spot Extreme Review

by - Saturday, June 09, 2012

Today I'll be reviewing Pink Powder Spot extreme (Php 598) from Etude House's AC Clinic line.

You'll get a freebie (GWP) for purchasing items worth (minimum) of P500.

The set contains 15ml Pink Powder Spot extreme and a 5ml (mini version) of Red Spot balm plus a pack of Q-tips.
Formulated with Sulfur Powder (antibiotic), Salicylic Acid and Hinoki Cypress extract, AC Clinic Pink Powder Spot soothes, heals, and brightens blemishes with a more powerful, advanced medicated formula.

The AC Clinic line is especially formulated for acne-prone troubled skin. Luckily, our family's genetically not the acne-prone type but I do get occasional pimples during my period or when I'm extremely stressed out. (e.g. Final exams, etc)

I look up to Salicylic Acid a lot. I'm not much into science and chemicals stuff but I do take time searching for random things especially the ones I will be using on my body, and Salicylic Acid is one of the good discoveries.

I didn't use the balm that much oddly because I don't even know how to use it, I tried putting some on both fresh pimples and pimple scars but I didn't feel any or even see any difference, so I decided to just ditched it! Haha!

And oh, aside from that, this is what I saw the first time I opened it, I just got really disappointed.

I don't even know if it was used/tested or it dried up. Meh~ I just don't feel like using it!
Moving on,

I like this very much!!!

At first, I really did not expect it to work. But this product proved me wrong. No, they are not magic potions that will shoo away pimples in a snap, but they do work, but not magically quick.

How to use:

DO NOT SHAKE THE BOTTLE. After facial cleansing (which can also include toning), perpendicularly dip the cotton into the bottle (with the powder purposely settled at the bottom).

Use the cotton to dab trouble spots and acne with cotton tip coated with the pink powder.

I advice using this in the evening before going to sleep.

AC Clinic Application Sequence: (according to the box)

Foam cleanser > Toner > Gel lotion > Red Spot Balm Whitening > Pink Powder Spot extreme > Pink Daily Spot then Calming Mist.

This can differ person to person, but this is how it works on my pimples so far:
  • For freshly new born (just about to go out) zits
applying it at night (or the very moment I saw it) the pimple will vanish the next day
  • For complete grown up zits,
  1. small ones take at least 2 to 3 days to completely disappear
  2. medium ones take at least a week to completely disappear
  3. big ones almost take forever to vanish! lol but they do disappear too, just continue applying regularly
What I don't like:

- Big zits that healed tend to leave noticeable reddish scar. Do you know anything I can do about that?
- P598 is too steep for a student's budget. I might just ditched this for PanOxyl even if this works fine on me :(

Update: {Sept. 15, 2013} I was able to finish 2 bottles, and one small sample bottle of this. (because by the time I was opting for another regular-sized bottle it was out of stock) I know the price is steep but it really is effective for me. Might get another bottle too! This is now a must-have in my skincare routine. :)
